Pulsed seismic motion has a special impact on engineering structures compared with ordinary ground motion. When the pulse period is close to the basic natural vibration period of the structure, the existence of &#8220;resonance effect&#8221; makes the structural response under the action of pulse ground motion significantly greater than the impact of ordinary ground motion on the structure, thus greatly increasing the possibility of structural function failure. Therefore, pulse period is an important parameter of pulse-type ground motion. The determination of velocity pulse period in near-field vibration is highly uncertain due to the influence of high-frequency components. How to calculate the pulse period is a research topic.
